josh was going to be the guest blogger on this one, but instead he picked out his favorite pictures from jay's visit.
jay kirkpatrick is one of josh's best friends, and he flew out here for a week from indiana for vacation + studio time. it was so fun to see josh with one of his good buddies again; they have a special kind of camaraderie, these two. they've endured many seasons of joy & sorrow together. they first became friends in the internship at muncie alliance church, & later ministered together at the indy alliance church in indianapolis ("vecino's"). they've also collaborated musically together for years, & jay is josh's favorite to work with on bass, harmonica, slide, accordion, melodica, banjo. (he's appeared on all of josh's albums but stonetree, his first)

It was awesome being out there with you guys. Still feeling rejuvenated from the time. Breathed a lot of life into me.
