: josh's latest song placement: an ad for reef's "ugandal sandal" :

this film was shot by our friend russell brownley, and the sandal was designed by his wife brianna, who works as a shoe designer for reef. the sandal highlights the handiwork of the women of northern uganda working with the NGO 31 bits. payment for use of the song came in the form of free reef clothes & shoes. this kind of bartering is pretty awesome, but mostly we're excited just to have the opportunity to link up with the various international relief + development projects russell often supports through his film work.

new year's eve

a quiet evening for our family, but fun. heron & i have been sick this week, so there was little desire to go out, but had we been well i don't think we could have chosen any other way to celebrate. we feasted (thanks to jeff & cris for a new cookbook), danced to django reinhardt, billie holiday, & louis armstrong, then made home videos. just enjoyed being a family.

after heron was asleep joshy put on the googoo goggles & enjoyed a special IPA, & i my pregnancy tea. asleep before midnight, content, looking forward to the new year & all that it will hold (a new child, among other wonderful things, i'm sure)...
