sheppy has finally started eating solids! he's now 9 1/2 months old, and he finally managed to swallow (and, apparently, enjoy) his first non-breastmilk this weekend! congratulations, sheppy! up until now, all of that lovable chub has been created entirely from breastmilk, and it seemed as if he was content for it to stay that way. we'd been offering him solid food of every color, flavor, and texture since he turned six months old and he's gagged on it all. but thanksgiving weekend grandma marti got shepherd to lick yogurt from her finger, and now there's no stopping the boy! he's gobbling up everything we give him. now we'll see if this translates to longer sleeping stretches, since he's still waking up every two or three hours to nurse!
