heron went to a zoo for the first time (since being an infant) and LOVED it! the oregon zoo is built into the hills and thick with trees. it's a beautiful setting, and we were glad to see that the animals had a little more space to roam around than they do in "goodnight gorilla" (one of heron's favorite bedtime books, her introduction to zoos). we went with our friends
rachel & avalon. avalon & heron are currently "best friends", though avalon is a year & a half older than heron. somehow the age gap isn't a barrier for these two!
