our friends sarah & ray have been living in oregon city, just outside of portland, for the past few months while they wait to see where ray will receive a contract to play basketball. i've loved having sarah nearby. she brings the twins (just younger than shepherd), and we spend the whole day in the kitchen (& usually take a long walk with our four kids, too!). this past visit sarah re-taught me how to can, as i haven't canned in a decade, & we made delicious applesauce (with some berries mixed in).
