today was a sunny autumn sunday so we hopped into the car and headed eastward, to the gorge. we'd only been as far east in oregon as multnomah falls, so today we explored hood river, an hour outside of portland. we had no itinerary, just followed signs that looked interesting. we ended up at an alpaca farm + yarn shop. with "is your mama a llama?" as one of her favorite books, heron enjoyed meeting (& feeding) the alpacas.
it was halloween, so sheppy dressed up as an alpaca ;) this was a handknit hat sold in the yarn shop. i was quite tempted to drop $39 on it due to its extreme cuteness as well as shepherd's extreme cuteness in it, but he'd already decided to be the big bad wolf for halloween (those pictures coming soon).

it was a fun little excursion & we enjoyed getting to know a little more of our gorgeous state of oregon!
