travel log : cannon beach

this weekend we ventured out in the wind and rain, over the snowy pass, to the frigid coast on a photo shoot for josh's album.  josh tried to keep the kids warm with blankets and wind barriers while i shot medium-format film with a holga & pinhole camera at four different locations.  the following picture is from the entire five minutes the kids were out of the car.  they were so cold that at the three other sites that followed i rushed out to the beach & took pictures while josh kept them cozy in the car.

i have never been so cold in my entire life as i was when i took this picture (on my digital slr... still waiting for the holga + pinhole prints to be developed).  there was some fierce wind up on this bluff!

we'll probably be taking a few more trips to the sea in the coming weeks for photo shoots, so hurry up, spring!  it's too cold!
