surviving* a saturday morning with a newborn + two toddlers

*otherwise known as "sleeping in".

your baby will be sleeping with you, so that's the easy part.  your four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son will wake up & walk quietly downstairs.  your four-year-old will go to the fridge and take out the little pitcher of milk & pour it on the cereal that you left out in two bowls on the dining room table the night before.  they will chatter over breakfast, then she will remain at the table to make storybooks for her softies out of leftover cardboard while her brother creates lego sculptures in the living room.

this will not work every time, but it worked today!

Amazing, smart & lovely! I love it when our kids take care of things for themselves! Awesome that you got to enjoy a little extra newborn snuggle time!
(And gorgeous photography!!)

Really, could anything be more charming that this? Such sweetness & ingenuity! My first thought was "oh no! what about the ants in the cereal?" but on second thought, that's clearly not an issue in Portland in October. :)
