heron is the sweetest thing! she's also really spicy--we call her our little spicy monkey. she is lively & outgoing, & she's always up for an adventure. this girl is full of spunk. she is all about having fun, laughing, having parties, & hosting people.
she's a real social girl, & such a sweet hostess! yesterday our friend cameron brought his dog amie over, & heron offered her water, invited her to a tea party in her room, & initiated a game of tag ("amie, i'll hide; you count!") her little friend cypress came over this morning & heron pulled out a chair at the table for him, pouring him a glass of water & bringing over some yogurt.
heron, at three, is already a gifted tree-climber. (this makes her mommy & daddy proud, as we are pretty skilled tree-climbers ourselves, we really value this skill in others, and our admiration of this skill in each other was probably a big reason we first fell in love). really, we watch her climb with wonder. she has an innate sense of balance & a real understanding of her body.
she loves painting, coloring, reading books, helping mama in the kitchen, collecting bugs, rainbows, playing dress-up, playing with her babies, "charlie & lola", hanging out with cypress & joaquin, milk, tea, classical music, "noodle night" on fridays with our neighborhood friends, wearing dresses, playing in the sandbox, climbing everything, family after-dinner wrestle time, & daddy tucking her in at night.
heron is a special, special girl, full of destiny & purpose, & it's thrilling to watch her grow up (though sad, too, as we kind of want her to be our little girl forever). we are so fortunate to have her in our lives! she's a joy-bringer, a healer. we love you, little blue!
