travel log : colorado

we've just returned from nine days in colorado where josh was mixing his album with our friend dave wilton.  it was hard work, with josh & dave in the studio for fourteen or so hours a day.  but the kids & i got to spend most of our days with ally (dave's wife) & their three kids norah (3), margot (18 months), and gideon (3 months).  norah & heron are the same age, so... instant friends.  shepherd & margot were so close in age & temperament that they were alternately super-friendly & super-pesky with each other all day long!

dave & ally live in an old church that's now their home + studio.  i loved these windows.  ally was making us morning espresso drinks.

josh played a show after his week of mixing.  here's his littlest fan--sawyer bundy, trace & becca's sweet little guy!  (this reminds me of heron's ear protection at 6 weeks)

our last night we got to spend an evening with our dear friends trace & becca.  this included trace's homemade pad kee mao, scotch, carcassonne, & the beatles!
