today marks 37 weeks of pregnancy! there's a huge sigh at this point, because baby girl can officially arrive at any time now, cells & organs fully developed. the due date is june 6, but who the heck knows? provisionally, we're ready. in all other ways, probably not remotely, but we're certainly ready for the unknown, & the adventure of it all.
josh & i toured the hospital today, where i will deliver with the aid of my midwife, shane. the nurse showing us around the perinatal center predicted the baby will arrive 10 days from now. so let's just see how precise renda is after 30 years of nursing. she's also predicting a 7 1/2 pound baby, versus the 10 pounds that my midwife anticipates. on both accounts i'm hoping renda's right. 10 days seems like a nice arrival date, though i must say that i've actually loved almost every minute of pregnancy--it's been a really beautiful time, so i'm not in the mindset of "i can't wait for this to be over!" though i really can't wait to meet her... so come on, little bird! we're ready for you!
