a brief history of the past week

shepherd is two weeks old! we certainly are enjoying his presence in our family. he is the sweetest little boy. right now he is mostly sleeping and eating, but we love the evening time the most, when he is alert for his longest stretch, and we don't need to protect his head from his rowdy sister heron! this is the time when we really get to know him, to talk to him, study his face, watch for his smile.

here's a glimpse of the past week with shepherd (& heron, too, of course!)...
