elle + josh: colorado + boston

C O L O R A D O

(may 6-11)

our family flew out to colorado for josh to record a song with "the enter the worship circle people" (aaron strumpel, karla adolphe, tim + laurie thornton, ben + robin pasley) and our friend josh rosen. it was a short trip, with 2 days in woodland park (recording, staying with our friends gary + karla adolphe), and only 2 days in the boulder area, where our friends trace + becca bundy and dave + ally + norah wilton (one month older than heron, to the day) live. but we are still so thankful for that time we shared with friends, and are grateful for a fruitful recording time, too. josh rosen's family flew out with him, too, so heron & i were lucky enough to get to hang out with julia & their son ezra, just one month younger than heron, during the recording days.

there was little time for site-seeing, but we did drive through garden of the gods, stopping by the side of the road for quick photos.

i am still waiting for the majority of my pictures from this trip since my memory card ran out of space & i dumped my photos onto a friend's computer to make space for new ones! thus, the latter photos of the trip are what i'll post here (sadly, no photos from our time with the wiltons or the concert at their amazing catholic church turned concert venue + home).

oh, here's one more...

not only is heron rapidly adding to the list of states she's visited, she is also very quickly accumulating a list of odd places she's slept (in her porta-crib) during our travels, including several bathrooms, a laundry room, a walk-in closet. by nature & nurture quite a flexible child, on this trip she volunteered to sleep in a bathtub in the absence of a pack-n-play for one of her naps. not to worry, no drowning danger here. we ensured that there was no way she could reach or have the strength to turn the water on! & in fact, she told us it was the most heavenly nap she'd ever taken!

one of my best friends from college, alice rouse, got married! & i was blessed to stand in her wedding as a bridesmaid. 4'10" in stature, she was the flower girl in our wedding! she made a beautiful dreadlocked, fuschia-accented bride, and we are so happy for her + tim!

i love weddings for the happy reunions with old friends! i was so glad to be able to spend the weekend with another college friend, amy (eversole) fox + daniel + alex (just a month younger than heron) from columbus, ohio. amy & i were the two married-with-children bridesmaids, and we enjoyed the camaraderie over the weekend.
